We, inhabitants of the village of Mare-Tabac are very dissatisfied with the services provided by individual bus operators along this route. We have been tolerating them for many years but now the situation has worsened and is beyond limit. As only individual buses run on Route 62, the operators do whatever they like. They have neither a proper arrival time nor a departure time. The maximum time limit for a trip from Curepipe to Rivière-du-Poste is 60 mins as per the bus time table 2006/2007 issued by the NTA. However, they take more than 70 mins to reach Mare-Tabac, where the average journey is supposed to be 50 mins. They spend around 15 mins at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital waiting for passengers and sometimes they stop at some bus stops deliberately and waste time under these circumstances, many people get late at work.

As far as the so-called ?Chef de Gare? is concerned, he never takes any action against them and what is more astonishing is that he disappears after 5 p.m. when he is supposed to work till 6 p.m. Furthermore, there is usually no bus at the Rivière-du-Poste terminus at 5.30 p.m. and on public holidays, the situation is more critical; for example, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratree, there are merely one or two buses on the road, where most of them go to Grand-Bassin. In addition, during a cyclone warning class 3, the buses leave the station about 30 minutes after the first announcement.

Hence, we, the inhabitants have to make necessary arrangements to reach our home safely.

We would be very grateful if remedial actions could be taken at the earliest possible to alleviate our painful problems by providing NTC buses along the Route 62.
