?It?s been ten years since I?ve come to Mauritius to set up my own company. The first feeling I got when I arrived was the fact that people were so human. They are always available to give you information in the streets or support in your business. They listen to you and do not hesitate to help you according to their abilities. Unlike Europe, where each person tends to live for oneself, mentalities are very different here. I am sure this has something to do with the way of living ? it is quite easy to combine a true quality of life with work here. In fact, I?ve been working longer hours since I?ve come to Mauritius than I used to do in Europe. If you have a job in the media or fashion design, there you would start working around 11 am, for instance.

Here, everyone starts working at 7.45 am for the shop and I often stay at the office until 7 pm but I really don?t find it too demanding or tiring. You can also take the time to entertain people for dinner at home while in Paris we often content ourselves with quick meals in restaurants once in a blue moon. Living here makes me so happy that it even inspires me and helps me create more. I always come to work in high spirits ? after strolling on Choisy beach at 6 am with my big black Labrador, Churchill. Doing such pleasant and relaxing activities are just impossible in Paris.

Just as it is impossible to go for a two-hour break and play golf in the morning. When I was in Paris, I had to drive more than two hours to reach a golf course ? which was so expensive. It is true that some people say that Mauritius lacks some leisure activities but I do not miss it at all. I have always done a lot of sports and I don?t have any problems practising my hobbies here? Except maybe for skiing? But I try to go to Europe as often as possible."
