Mauritius is one of the largest exporters of primates for vivisection laboratories in the world. To date four Mauritian companies have been granted licenses to catch and export primates. Gateway to Hell is a European based campaign focusing on the issue of the transport of animals destined for vivisection experiments, in particular those which are caught in the wild. Inside investigations have shown that many of the animals suffer horrendously when captured, and many die en route to countries in North America and Europe. Once in the laboratories they are subjected to sickening and pointless experiments which any civilized person would abhor. With this in mind we are calling on countries involved to end this trade.

In the case of Mauritius we are calling for a complete revocation of all licenses granted to export primates forthwith, and for a guarantee not to license or otherwise permit the trade to take place in the future.

Otherwise it is our intention to launch an international boycott against the Mauritian tourist and sugar industries, to let people know about the unfortunate primates sharing their flights homewards with Air France and Air Mauritius.

However, it is our sincere wish to come to an amicable agreement on this issue.
