The Sun and The Moon
Riona S. Peedoly.
À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.
Once upon a time,
The sun burned with longing
for the moon
And the moon reflected his passion,
Forgetting that that wasn’t her own light.
They promised each other love
But remained separated;
and God created the eclipse.
Once they kiss,
and part again.
It was never her own light.
When the moon realised the truth,
She was devastated;
For she knew not anymore,
What was truly hers
And who she was
Without her projections
And so, she turned away from the sun.
She reflected a little light for Hope
but she found solace in darkness,
Cratered with flaws was she
But at least the flaws were hers.
She waxes and wanes,
Changing every cycle,
Never the same;
She finds herself.
Who says the moon hides parts of herself?
She is only discovering, exploring those
parts for herself;
The moon owns her spirit.
Once upon a time,
The sun and the moon promised each
other love
But the moon, delirious,
Forgot it was never her own light;
The promise shattered
Into a thousand twinkling stars,
As the sun drowned in the sea
And the moon sought out her own Truth;
Fragments of a promise,
Shimmer from afar,
Shimmering together;
The world bore insignificance;
And every human came on Earth,
With their own burden,
Beauty and brokenness,
A friend to all is a friend to none
Perhaps that’s why Nathan would say:
“We are all specks of stardust at the end of the day.”
