Obituary
GOODBYE NARI AND THANK YOU
On the 19th of April 2008 our National Airline lost the one and only Mr Dastur, Nari. H. Dastur passed away after a relatively short illness at the age of 85. His immediate family and friends were near him to wish a final goodbye. These are always difficult moments but this is life and we can only wish all those close to him and in particular his closest friend and daughter Gulserene and his closest ally for 58 years, his wife Katie, our most sincere condolences.
Mr Dastur was brought in to Air Mauritius as regional director for Europe in 1978 by Amédée Maingard with the blessing of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, the founders of our National Airline. He was entrusted the monumental task of establishing Air Mauritius in Europe. On his retirement from the company in 1998 he left behind him a well established organization with strong relationship amongst the Travel Trade partners, be it in Europe or in Mauritius. Our National Airline was just lucky to have had a man of his caliber with so much determination to achieve success. He was loyal, efficient, humane, always fighting for the underdog. He took good care of his staff and made sure they in turn took good care of Air Mauritius customers. He was genuinely generous.
Thank you Mr Dastur, you will always be remembered with much love and affection.

We, at BPS College, are deeply affected by the sudden demise of Sister Sylvie of the BPS Congregation.
Amongst all the valuable memories that we have about her, we reckon above all her calm, serene, diligent personality and her readiness to serve others. In the past, she worked as secretary at the college and since then, she kept a fruitful relationship with the staff and the students. Her phone calls to me were always marked with a genuine eagerness to help the college community. We salute her participation in a host of college activities and celebrations, together with other Sisters of the BPS congregation.
I have personally known her quite recently but her affectionate character and her propensity to help others have impressed me. I have no doubt that everyone at Clinique Ferrière where she was a member of the staff has seen in her a person with a great heart who did wonders in her daily encounter with all people. No word can convey adequately our gratitude for all her services. May I, on my own name and on behalf of Mrs. Madeline Vas, Manager; Mr. Jean Marie Guérandel, Chairman of the Board of Governors, staff and students of BPS College express my gratitude to Sister Sylvie for what she has been and for what she did as a servant leader.
Sister Sylvie will always be remembered in our midst.
