Born and bred in music, Shantanu Mukherji, better known as Shaan, is a household name in his country, India, and in Mauritius alike, with his mega-hit Mera Dil Laile from the film Tum and the enormously popular TV show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa he has been hosting for the last two years. He will be in Mauritius for the first time in July and will perform with his troupe in a unique concert in July.

The artist grew up in a rich musical environment, with a father, who composed music, and a mother and a sister who are singers. Starting off with low-key jobs such as jingles, and backing vocals for other artists, Shaan also did many odd jobs such as private tuition, salesman, and desktop publishing. His career skyrocketed with his second album, Tanha Dil, which took the Indi Pop genre to a new level and in many ways made it a more captivating form of music. With Aksar, his latest album, Shaan has hit a new level altogether. He has collaborated with international artists such as Blue, Mel C and Samira Raid. Shaan has penned his own lyrics and has composed the songs himself.
