?I?m learning Creole from my daughter?
?I came to Mauritius three years ago and I really liked the place. Mauritius is a nice, clean and peaceful country. People here live on an individual basis, which I find a very good thing indeed. The weather also is very good. There are nice beaches and shops in Mauritius. I liked Caudan and Grand Bay very much. Here women work harder and manage better than men. I am married to a Mauritian. At first, the language was a big problem for me but now I?m learning ?Creole? from my daughter. What I dislike is that people like to interfere in other people?s matters a lot and they talk so much. There are also lots of wrong guiding as people here don?t like to help others. People also have wrong conceptions about religions here.
As a beautician, I have noticed that here, there is a greater demand for ?hair colouring? than for beauty care. People don?t really care for their skins. They do lots of hair cuts and colouring but they do not have proper knowledge of skin and hair health and care. We hardly have any good beauty products. The products on the market, despite having big labels, are of inferior quality. The few which we have, are at very high prices and not everyone can afford them. People use low-cost products, which actually damage their skins. There is a lot of quantity but less quality. The government must also do things to promote the goodwill of Mauritius internationally and stop the ongoing loss that the Mauritian market is facing.
Being a Pakistani settled here after marriage to a Mauritian, I think that the government should help and support us also as we have become citizens of the country. It would be nice if we were given support in starting businesses or finding jobs. Air tickets are also expensive and it would have been nice if the government could provide some support by giving us special packages with a discount on air tickets while going to our home country.?
