Blackout:An Appeal to Hon. Kasenally
The continuous blackout saga of the CEB at Bel-Air, Rivière-Sèche seems to be an ongoing process these days despite the many complaints we have made to the Hotline desk in Cassis. How could Hon. Kasenally, as the minister concerned, explain to us the several power cuts we have endured most of the days ? We have at least three to four short interval power cuts in the mornings and in the late afternoons most of the week days. And on week-ends we have long power cuts quite often.
An incident occurred on Eid-day. In the morning of Eid-day, where many of us muslims who have to take our hot baths prior to going to the mosques for our morning prayers, the CEB did choose this very moment to deprive us of electricity and such power cut lasted for a very long time. It would appear that our complaints keep falling on deaf ears. Nobody cares ! The minister of Public Utilities, Abu Kasenally seems to be unaware of the problem of electricity power cuts in these areas.
Despite many phone calls made to the hotline number 130, those who took the calls could not care less and adopted a very officious attitude. It is about time minister Kasenally tries to find out the causes of such power cuts at Bel-Air, Rivière-Sèche before it is too late, as many people are on the brink of protesting in front of the CEB in Flacq.
None of our three MPs, namely Hons Indira Seebun, Lormesh Bundhoo and Cader Sayed Hossen, would help in this matter. Some streets of Bel-Air, Rivière-Sèche are pitch-dark at night due to defective lamps on lamp posts. Not a single day passes without our electricity supply being cut off. Sometimes we have two to three power cuts per day without warning and this has caused collateral damages such as spoiling our foods in the freezer. So we need help Mr minister !
