Andrea KUX
A woman in paradise?
Some seventeen years ago, she married a Mauritian and has stayed here. The couple owns Kuxville Beach Cottages in Cap Malheureux. Andrea has never thought of going back to Germany as she simply feels Mauritian?
Her beauty complements her kindness and friendliness. Indeed, Andrea Kux is very special in various ways. Her personality speaks for itself. First of all, she is so extrovert that she gives her opinion about everything in a very open way. And, when she speaks, in spite of her very ambitious tone, you easily notice how good she is as a mother, a wife and just a person.
When she is in her workplace, despite the fact that she seems a strong character, she tends to treats her employees in a friendly manner. But what is really particular about her is that she likes making people laugh. ?To me, a good human relationship is essential at all levels. This can have positive results and positive consequences on several aspects of life.?
Unlike many expatriates, Andrea did not take much time to settle down and get used to the Mauritian way of life when she arrived in 1989. In fact, to settle down was not really difficult as she was already familiar with French and English. And it took her only a few months to learn Creole.
Although Andrea has quite a busy schedule, she always tries to find time to do all the things she likes. Cooking, horse-riding, walking her dogs and sea sports are what she enjoys doing the most. ?I like to walk and run in the open air. That relaxes me a lot. I like to be active! If I had more time, I would have done many other things such as playing instrumental music. To be honest, I am often busy with work and so on. But I try to find the time to practise my hobbies.?
Andrea was born on 21st May 1966 at Augsburg, in Germany. She finished secondary school at sixteen. Her passion for languages motivated her to go to a foreign language school. To perfect her French, she went to France and spent almost one year there. Then, she returned to Germany and started working for an American company specialising in computer software. Three years later, in 1989, she came to Mauritius and married Nico. They have two boys: Daniel and David.
When Andrea is asked whether she will go back to Germany or not, the first word that comes out is ?Never?! But, when she thinks again, she prefers to be realistic. ?You can never say ?never? in life. I have to take into consideration my two sons as well. But, to be honest, I would like to stay here forever. I love it here! It is my country. You can find anything here. Mauritius is like a paradise??
