Advertising steals the show!
The “week of advertising” has started. The Advertising Agencies Association (AAA) launched the event at the Suffren last Saturday with an awards ceremony. Priya Thacoor of P&P Link and Thierry Montocchio from Circus have been the great winners with four awards each in the Craft Award and Design Award categories. The second edition of “The Flame” aims at promoting design as a communication tool. During the whole week, the professionals of the sector are given the opportunity to put their knowledge together and debate on common issues. Conferences and workshops are organised at Octave Wiehé Auditorium with foreign professionals on packaging for instance. Kees Schilperoot, the global creative chairman of Enterprise IG and Farid Chebab, chief creative officer at Leo Burnett Middle East & North Africa, will lead two conferences. Exhibitions on the world of advertising are also on the agenda. The public is invited to attend these events as these workshops are aimed at making it Mauritians more aware of what is done at local level.The festival will end up with the expected Advertising Award on Saturday. This will reward the best creations at national, regional and international levels.
