Courrier des lecteurs: “Lack of service of Air Mauritius’’
On 22nd October we arrived at SSR airport just by taxi before 5 pm for our flight home via Paris to UK. Wheelchair assistance let us down once more as it has done before. We had to wait for nearly an hour for them to come to us with wheelchair despite me asking someone at least 4 times.
My husband, a Mauritian by birth, is 82 and in very poor health and can only stand and walk a couple of steps with great difficulty. If it had not been that another agency loaned us a wheelchair to get us into departures until wheelchair assistance arrived, we would have been waiting in taxi for nearly an hour and we would have had to pay for the extra hour.
This lack of service is far from good enough from such a beautiful new airport and this is not first time for us and I know of others who have complained of poor wheelchair assistance service.
I have complained to Air Mauritius but apart from brief message saying it is being looked into no further response as yet.
