Record number of dangerous drugs seized
The Anti Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) consider they made a ?record seizure? of Subutex with the arrest of Sada Curpen last Thursday. As he was arrested in Trou-aux-Biches, the police found 3,500 Subutex tablets on him representing a value of some Rs 3.5 million. While this substance is legal and used as a drug substitute in France, it is considered as a dangerous drug in Mauritius and a cause of devastation in drug addict circles. The Adsu is convinced that there are more arrests to come.

The promoters point out that the new park will be aesthetic, green and practical. People wanting to buy a plot of land there will have to abide by strict regulations and specifications. ?The emphasis laid on planning will be the main difference between Emerald Park and other residential areas,? explained Danny Fon Sing, one of the promoters.
