Bus drivers and conductors need training.

One of our problems is with bus drivers and conductors (reveveurs). Bus drivers are very often in haste. Perhaps, they have to cope with time schedule, that is to cover certain number of minutes. When passengers get into the bus, most of the time drivers start away before passengers get seated. Subsequently, they accelerate.

I have winessed cases where passengers have fallen in similar situations.

However, what we observe in some drivers of individual buses is that they start driving slowly from the bus station and in the long run of their route, they drive so swiftly that they fail to stop deliberately at bus stops. So much so, drivers and receivers should be properly dressed. Many of them wear t-shirts and jeans, even sandals instead of shoes. Just their looks are disgraceful.

Furthermore, conductors go to ticket passengers instantly when they are seated. By that time, they watch how passengers take out their money to settle the fare. It is again embarrasing when they ask passengers to get into buses “vite vite ! , or “Assise lamem” or “Dessane vit”!

Well, we have noted these things currently with individual buses. Bus drivers and conductors must be given refresher courses on civism and professional behaviour towards pasengers, with particular care for children, elderly persons and the handicapped. I think the National Transport Authority (NTA) should see seriously to the matter.
