AfrAsia Bank Open: A milestone for the Mauritian golf scene
The AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open was officially launched with a ceremony held at the C Beach Club at Heritage Resorts, Bel Ombre, this 28th of August. This competition is the 1st tri-sanctioned tournament endorsed by Sunshine, European and Asian Tours, all three being members of the international Federation of PGA tours.
The cash prize of €1 million is the highest prize to be paid to professional golfers in a tournament held in Mauritius.
Keith Waters, Mike Kerr and Grant Wilson, CEOs of the European, Asian and Sunshine tours respectively, have shared their thoughts about the tournament.
