Request from I.C.T Teachers
Mr Seegum, the G.T.U President, is indeed one of the great leaders that we have known. Mr Seegum is a man of principles and a born leader . Please Mr Seegum, we, ICT Teachers have joined the G.T.U. Now, we want a mouthpiece within the executive committee. If we are members, there must be a representative of ICT teachers in the executive council. We, as ICT teachers, want our leader, Mr Avinash Ramcharan, to be a candidate for the next G.T.U Elections. Could you please make the necessary amendments for that to be possible. The ex-president said that ICT teachers were recruited to reduce the workload of G.P teachers! ICT would be the fifth pillar of the economy. If the ex-president doesn?t know the importance of ICT, it can only be a shame for teachers ! How could a trade union leader of 17 years announce that ICT teachers are here just to reduce workload of G.P teachers ? In Singapore, G.P teachers use I.T to enhance their pupil?s knowledge. In April 2002 , Mr ex-president, you signed the agreement that ICT teachers must be employed on a contract basis ! Mr ex-president, thanks for your contribution and be assured that ICT teachers are human beings that would be associated forever with Mr Seegum as he is attentive to our requests. And how could ICT teachers benefit from the General Purpose Teachers Union ? Is it possible that the G.P.T.U Leader protects the ICT teacher from abuses from the G.P teacher ? Mr Seegum would remain in the history books of the G.T.U as a great unifying leader. ICT teachers only want unity. ICT , G.P , A.L ? United we stand , divided we fall !!!
