<B>Shields thanks Cruise</B>

Actress Brooke Shields has mockingly thanked Tom Cruise for drawing attention to her book on post-natal depression when he publicly criticised the actress for using anti-depressants. According to the Internet Movie Database, the star of the TV show “Suddenly Susan” said she had suffered post-partum depression after giving birth to her daughter and had praised the drug Paxil for helping her come back to a happier state of mind. Shields had written about this in her book “Down Came the Rain”. Cruise caused controversy last month when he slammed Shields for her drug use and asked: “Where has her career gone?” and claimed that just taking plain vitamins would have been enough to cure her of her depression.

<B>Destiny’s Child winners at BET Awards</B>

R&B newcomer John Legend joined established stars Alicia Keys and the soon-to-disband Destiny’s Child as winners at the BET Awards. Legend was named best new artist, a trophy the man who discovered him, Kanye West, won at last year’s awards. Destiny’s Child was named best group. The women of Destiny’s Child wore slinky brown dresses in their performance and pulled Nelly, Terence Howard and NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson onstage for a trio of lap dances.

<B>Hurley hosts reality fashion show</B>

Beautiful model-cum-actress Liz Hurley is all set to host a reality TV show called “Project Catwalk”. Hurley will present the show designed to find new faces in fashion and due to be screened next year, reports news portal Ananova.The show will be filmed in London and will have aspiring designers compete for the opportunity to display their designs during the London Fashion Week.Hurley, who recently launched her own collection of beachwear, said: “I am thrilled to be hosting the show. It’s a brilliant and hugely entertaining format.”
