The other world
Many a time confusion has
Tangled my mind mysterioulsy.
Sad thoughts brewing in my mind.
Silently I have pondered
On heartfelt mysteries.
My eyes have not been marvelled
At the dazzling and lofty
Achievements on this good Earth.
I have struggled hard to conquer
The maddening winds and storms
Enough to drive a sane man mad
I have failed. I am not Hercules.
I am so strong and yet so weak.
God in His mercy lent me courage,
Outspread His mighty wings
Shading me from the scorching sun
Listening to my unspoken words.
Leaving false roof, false company,
I shall walk to other destinations.
I seek not the ivory bed,
Nor a court where peacocks flaunt,
I seek not riches clustered
Thick as seeds.
I rather seek freedom
From this heavy indifferent world
This cold and empty world
Devoid of warm feelings
Surrounded by a barbed wire fence.
I shall sit somewhere
Maybe under a tree
Looking at the gipsies lolling
With noble lustre in their eyes.
I shall look at the sun rising
Filling the incense-breathing morn
With a strange delight.
And every little object will fill
My heart with joy to the brim.
