Camp Levieux and the vicinity have known a dazzling development together with a no less important demographic expansion for the past few years. This does not seem to have been followed by a proportional growth of infrastructures needed to shoulder such progress.

Lately a neighbour at Nouvelle Ville had the most unpleasant experience of catching a dubious character peeping through the curtain at the back of his house. The presence of fishy persons (suspected to be prostitutes and drug addicts) roaming in the waste land bordering Morcellement Nouvelle Ville and New Town have been reported to the police. It has to be said that though they have to move from Stanley police station, law enforcers attend such requests and sometimes carry out patrols.

The New Police post will definitely enhance their presence in the region, promoting law and order through closer monitoring and rapid intervention.

Meanwhile, it would be desirable that some careless owners of neglected plots of lands in the vicinity clear their property from the bushes that proliferate therein and provide appropriate habitats for mosquitoes and? wrong-doers .The undersigned?s property itself is bordered by such jungle space.

The absence of street names indication panels in Morcellement Nouvelle Ville and New Town is more strongly felt with the growing number of houses. It would be desirable if the authorities could do the needful.

Metal covers of some water stops lining the roads at regular intervals often go missing. This compromises the safety of pedestrians and joggers. A system must be found to make them inaccessible to robbers.

The future operation of a New Police post at Camp Levieux will surely contribute to improve security in the region but this does not exempt residents from neighbourhood watching in solidarity while keeping authorities informed. It?s together that we are stronger.
