The Foreign affairs and International trade minister, Jayen Cutaree, who is aspiring to the post of director general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), is attending the official interview for the post tomorrow. This entails a 75-minute presentation before the WTO general council during a special session in Geneva. Apart from Jayen Cuttaree, the other candidates for the post are the Brazilian Luiz Felipe de Seixas Correa, the Uruguayan Carlos Perez del Castillo and the French man Pascal Lamy. They will all have to expound their vision of the WTO. Until the designation of Supachai Panitchpakdi’s successor in May, the campaign for the Mauritian candidate goes on with the PM, Paul Bérenger, making sure that he gets the strongest support from the international community.
