Iranian President inaugurates 19th International Book Fair
The 19th International Book Fair kicked off at the permanent fairgrounds here yesterday with Iranian President Ahmadinejad officiating at the inaugural ceremony. Ahmadinejad, who was accompanied by Culture Minister Mohammad-Hossein Saffar-Harandi and Tehran City Council head Mehdi Chamran, visited Nos 8 and 9 stands in the exhibition. Over 2,754 domestic and foreign publishers are displaying over 283,000 different books or articles in the areas of religion, philosophy, literature, art, history, geography and basic, ideological and practical sciences.
The president is scheduled to address domestic and foreign scientific and cultural figures after viewing parts of the exhibition.
