Sega singer Mario Armel goes down memory lane. Making a clean breath of the pranks he used to play as a child. Recounting the good old days when lots of girls would swarm around him after he?d sung his piece in a cabaret. Painting the showbiz world, not in the proverbial rosy hues but with its true colours: that of swindlers, be they music producers or TV presenters.

Why such a move? It is Mario Armel?s way to celebrate his 40-year long career. One that started when he just turned 18. It was journalist Robert d?Argent?s privilege to find the right words with which to tell us of the singer?s life, professional as well as private. The book called Quelques accords posés sur la terre, published by Graphic Press Ltd was launched on Thursday.

Sticking to the chronological order, the journalist and the singer take us around the world. We follow them to each and every country where Mario Armel had assignments, witnessing the birth and death of his successive groups, as well as reliving the creation of his famous songs.

The book is available at Rs 350. And for those who want more of the hits Mario Armel has been writing for us for 40 years, they can have a go at the DVD launched simultaneously. It can be bought at Rs 250.
