“Trainer P. Henry explained that he instructed jockey Lloyd, from an awkward barrier, to endeavour to lead if possible, which he expected him to be able to do. J. Lloyd confirmed those instructions, he explained that his mount jumped well, however when Lockerbie showed superior speed, he elected to sit behind that gelding, then at the 600 metres when Judgement Day and Gun Runner improved on his outside then shortly after Gun Runner applied pressure to Judgement Day, he elected to steady and come back to the outside of these geldings, at the same time, Intrusion improved on his inside. After consideration, J. Lloyd was found guilty to a contravention of Rule 161 (f) in that he failed to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards, the particulars being for some distance leaving the 600 metres he unnecessarily steadied his mount and took his mount out away from his rightful running, obliging his mount to cover unnecessary ground. He was fined Rs 50 000.”

Gdansk rappelons-le avait ce jour-là, terminé sixième à 2.25L de Lockerbie.
