Jacko to get $10 mn for interview
King of pop Michael Jackson will reportedly tell all in a US TV interview that could earn him 10 million dollars. Jackson was cleared of child molestation charges by a Californian jury earlier this month but is reportedly to be in massive debt. The decision to make a TV appearance has sparked a bidding war between US networks, with veteran interviewers Barbara Walters and Oprah Winfrey both competing for the scoop, according to Femalefirst .
“Michael has purposely not been seen since the trial as he knows this drives up the interest and the price for his first interview,” an insider was quoted by the Sun , as saying. “He is planning to sell to the highest bidder and his representatives are discreetly talking to major networks,” he added. If it goes ahead, the star will lay down tough rules about editorial control after a controversial interview with British journalist Martin Bashir led to his trial.
