Pakistan forces hit kidnapper’s suspected hideout
Pakistani helicopter gunships on Wednesday attacked a suspected hideout of Abdullah Mehsud, a former Guantanamo Bay inmate who masterminded the kidnapping of two Chinese engineers this month, witnesses said.
“At least two helicopter gunships are pounding the mountains near Spinkay Raghzai,” a resident of the area, where locals say Abdullah is thought to be hiding, told Reuters by telephone. Military spokesman Major-General Shaukat Sultan said an operation was in progress against militants in the area, but said he did not have more details.
