Change the venue of the “Pet Show”

In view of the forthcoming annual “Pet Show” to be organised by the MSPCA, I see with great concern and sadness that once again the venue chosen for this popular event is the MPSCA compound at Rose Hill.

As anyone who has been attending this event over the last years must have noted, the considerable crowd is by far too much for the space available. What was supposed to be a great day for our beloved pets becomes intensely stressful as they are constantly bullied and trodden upon. Just looking at their frantic eyes is enough to see what they are going through. This is pure cruelty to these poor animals.

Moreover, it is more than evident that such a large number of people in such a small place represents a considerable safety hazard. A panic stampede can cause dramatic results in such circumstances.

I am sure that many other places can be found for such a popular event that will be much more suitable and make this occasion enjoyable for all. An excellent recent example would be the “dog show” organized by “Le Club d’Education Canine” at Collè-ge St Esprit.

Hoping that my plea will receive due consideration.
