What goes on in the minds of middle-aged men who try to buy sex from children? How vulnerable are minors in Mauritius to such predators? In an attempt to find out, Weekly magazine spent four months conducting an undercover investigation. Posing as teenage girls on social media, we were contacted by men as old as 60 who wanted to have sex with us in exchange for money and gifts. One of them claimed to be a police officer.
We agreed to meet them – and filmed the scenes with hidden cameras. When we revealed that we were journalists, the cameras kept rolling…
