● <B>Why has a special committee been set up on the issue of Campement Tax? </B>

After chief justice Bernard Sik Yuen and judge Bushan Domah had listened to the witnesses, state counsels and the Association of Campement Owners (Acou), they felt the conflict could be settled out of court. This is why they recommended that a committee be set up to find a solution acceptable to both parties. Both the state and the Acou members have appeared satisfied with this proposal.

● <B> So, when will the committee start working? </B>

The first working session will be settled after 22nd July, when its chairman has returned from China. Cabinet secretary Suresh Seebaluck is part of the delegation accompanying PM Navin Ramgoolam in his official trip there. ● <B>What is the origin of the conflict state vs campement owners? </B>

The latter have actually made three complaints against the state. The first one, dating back to 2002, regarded the Campement Tax which had been indexed on the value of the buildings (0.5%).
