● <B>This week should be the right one. </B>After the request of the Opposition that the ?Sexual Offenses Act? not be taken up in Parliament last Tuesday, it should be on the agenda for discussion tomorrow. This bill is intended to arouse passions both from the ruling majority and the Opposition parties. The issue of legalising sodomy should be at the core of debates. Lawyers, especially Pramila Patten, have also pointed at the weaknesses of the bill, particularly the absence of legislation on rape within marriage. In the context of the World Heritage Day to be celebrated on Wednesday, 18th April, a series of activities has been organized by the Aapravasi Ghat Trust Fund. Guided visits of the Aapravasi Ghat are planned as from today and all through the coming week as well as exhibitions and presentations relating to the site.
