Scottish farmers slashed to death at Kenyan farm
AN ELDERLY Scottish farmer was slashed to death and his wife seriously injured when intruders broke into the couple?s farm in western Kenya, police said yesterday.
Police spokesman Joel Langat said Charles Stonewigg, 74, and his wife Ann, 71, were attacked at their remote farm in the Rift Valley late Wednesday or early Thursday.
?He was hit on the head while sleeping in his bedroom. There was a deep cut to the head and blood splashed on the wall?, Langat said. She had a deep cut on the head which suggests the use of a panga (machete)?, adding that Ann Stonewigg was taken to hospital in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. Three people have been taken in for questioning, including a farm worker.
