The mother of Michael Jackson?s teen accuser, sobbing at times, told a jury on Wednesday that the pop star and his henchmen put furious pressure on her family to help exonerate Jackson and terrified her with tales of mysterious ?killers? out to get them.

In sometimes overwrought testimony interrupted by tears, rambling asides and outbursts directed across the courtroom at Jackson, the woman also begged jurors for understanding as she told of failing to intervene when she saw the singer licking her son?s head on a private jet. ?Please don?t judge me, please don?t judge me, at that time I hadn?t slept for so long,? she pleaded to the jurors, fanning her face with her hand and choking back sobs as she recalled the incident on a late night flight from Miami to Jackson?s Neverland Valley Ranch in February of 2003.

She said her 13-year-old son, other passengers and a flight attendant were all asleep on the chartered jet when she looked around the plane to where the boy was sitting by Jackson. ?That?s when I saw Michael licking (his) head. I thought it was me, I thought I was seeing things,? she said, nearly wailing in the packed courtroom. The woman?s younger son has testified to the head licking, but the flight attendant said she saw no intimate contact between Jackson and the boy.

Defense lawyers say she defrauded the government in accepting that money. Melville ruled that the woman, who came to court dressed in a pink suit, could testify about the Jackson matter while at the same time invoking her constitutional right against self-incrimination regarding the welfare. He threw out a bid by Jackson?s lawyers, who have portrayed the mother as a liar and a grifter who preyed on celebrities, to prevent the woman from testifying at all.

That began a period of intense pressure on the family to cooperate in making a videotape exonerating Jackson and incessant telephone calls from Jackson aide Frank Cascio in which he urged them to ?appease the killers.? ?Appease the killers ? I heard that so many times ... And you know what? They ended up being the killers,? she added with a flourish, referring to Jackson and his aides. Several times, the woman spoke directly at Jackson, once when asked by prosecutor Ron Zonen if she had been allowed to leave Neverland to get a body wax. She replied that she only had her legs waxed and jabbed a finger at Jackson as she added loudly, ?And the key thing is, I paid for it.?

Jurors heard a tape of a series of calls in which Cascio, in a soft voice eerily similar to Jackson?s, beseeches her to return to Neverland for the family?s safety, make the tape, and ?go away? with the entertainer. ?We?re all going to have to go somewhere, including Michael,? Cascio says, adding that Jackson ?has been hurt so many times? and that she should not turn her back on him. The woman, meanwhile, says in a childlike voice that she fears the two German aides but considers Jackson her ?family.?
