In the issue of “l’express” newspaper dated Tuesday 26th March 2002 there appeared an article concerning the conduct of the Plaintiff as President of the FMBB, Mr James Lee Fye. The Plaintiff has by a plaint dated April 2002 denied the veracity of the allegations made against him in the said article. The Defendants wish to point out that in publishing the said article it did not have the intention to cast any aspersion on the character or reputation of the Plaintiff. In the event that this has been so construed by the Plaintiff, the Defendants express their deep and sincere apologies to Mr James Lee Fye. The Defendants undertake to publish the above statement in “l’express” within a fortnight.
