The mornings are no longer bright and sunny

The birds no longer sing prettily

Outside the winds blow the trends of discord

It?s a violence we can no longer afford.

I did not wish for a war

I didn?t want you to go this far

If you do not believe in humanity

Why did you spell a peace treaty?

Everywhere blood and tears are spilled

Everywhere with pain the world is streaked

We watch and stare, powerless

We wait and hope, helpless.

If only you could wipe it all

If only hope could solve it all

If only we could work like a united front

If only we could sow love?s magic crop.

I don?t know why countries fight everyday

I don?t understand how it?s enmity all the way

Why can?t we live in peace?

Why the hatred we cannot cease?

I sit and pray for the day

When they will all say

?Let?s put a stop to the fight

And blow the bombs out of sight?.

Will my dreams ever come true?

Will we humans draw love in a bright hue?

I hope and wish fervently

For a world painted in skies so merry.
