It was simply amazing! The colourful dresses of the ladies from Bollywood made us forget about Diwa, the surprise guest at the long awaited Cine Awards. The warm words of the guests for Mauritius and its inhabitants were enough to cancel out the rain and wind outside? And the show did the rest!

The frantic choreographies of Shahrukh Khan or Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta electrified the Swami Vivekananda centre. All the top stars of Bollywood were there to make it a memorable show? and they really did so!

At ?award time?, Black produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was as forecast the big winner of the evening. Although the lead actor, Amitabh Bachchan, was not present to receive his award for best actor, this did not prevent the film from being endorsed overwhelmingly. It received no less than nine awards ? including Rani Mukherjee who received that of best actress. Ayesha Kapoor has become the youngest actress to win an award as best supporting actress in ?Black?.

Distinguished Rekha moved the whole public when she came on stage to receive a life-achievement award. After reciting a poem, she thanked the public ?for loving her for so many years?? Rishi Kapoor also received a life-achievement award. The presence of several ministers and the PM was a proof of the importance given to the ceremony. As the show was broadcast in more than 120 countries to 350 million viewers, it was all about not missing the opportunity for Mauritius to get into the limelight. With great organisation and an entertaining show, the event was definitely a success!
