Bill Naismith, a well-known literary critic, qualifies ?Top Girls?, by British contemporary female playwright Caryl Churchill as ?a play that questions the roles that have been imposed on women, past and present.? The Rain or Shine Theatre Group, which includes Mauritian and expatriate amateur actors, is staging Top Girls from 12th to 14th March at 19:30 at Tarisa Resort Hotel in Mon Choisy. The play is set in the England of the 1980s and reflects the social climate of the time, but the director, Jim Bennett, has ensured the play remains relevant to the contemporary Mauritian audience. Tickets are available in all IV Play shop outlets and on the spot at Rs 150 (adults) and Rs100 (students). Performances for ?dinner theatre? at Le Ravin, Moka are scheduled on 19th & 20th March, by reservation only. Tel: 255 6018.
