Raddhoa loses power…

The head of the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), Prem Raddhoa, is disappointed. As the commissioner of police, Ramanooj Gopalsingh, informed him that he was no longer responsible of the gambling squad and the Central Investigation Division (CID) in Curepipe, the MCIT head admitted he no longer had any courage to continue the fight. Even though the official version says he was removed some of his prerogatives because he has too much to do at the head of the MCIT, the problem might come from a division within the government. Some MPs from the majority seem to start having doubts over his methods. Likewise, relations between Raddhoa and the CP have never been cordial. As the latter informed him that he was removing some of his powers, his disappointment was no surprise. The more so as “our team had started to do a very good job to maintain law and order in Curepipe. As for the gambling squad, we were working on a case of money laundering during the race horses’ season,” he revealed to l’express.
