There are two elements that go against a sane and quality education : (i) stress and conflict, (ii) exploiting education for commercial purposes. Furthermore, there is something called psychopedagogy and we have quite a literature upon. No genuine pedagogue will go for that Gokhool Reform ; on the other hand, demagogues will do so. Moreover, there is no dismal scene as to see petty-minded and obscurantist communally – bent people offering damaging aberrations in the name of education; communal considerations have always bedevilled our society.

Be that as it may, we gather that if there will be more than the 1 260 seats, then the data base of marks will come into force. We should not forget that often a 1/4 mark differentiates the candidates in their grading.

Now, some parents may want to see transparency. Those coming after the 1 260 or not having obtained a seat in the national colleges could have recourse, legal or not, to have a revision of scripts or answer-papers compared with those selected. Then, it will be the markers who will bear the brunt !
