Bachoo lets fly? with his criticisms
Now that Anil Bachoo has left the government and his former party, the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM),he feels he has the right to castigate every action of the government and the attitude of the prime minister, Paul Bérenger. The least we can say is that he doesn?t hesitate to do so.
After the shy criticisms he threw at his former leader, Pravind Jugnauth, a few days after he had resigned, Anil Bachoo now appears more confident and keener to rant about the government as a whole. According to the leader of the new party, the Mouvement Socialiste Démocrate (Socialist Democrat Movement), the way the government has ruled the country for the past four years has led to a catastrophic situation: ?We are sitting on a volcano. And while many people see a future full of despair, they are told to keep cool.?
No law and order, a rise in unemployment, an economy that remains in the hands of the wealthiest, price increases? In a nutshell, the ?best-ruled country of the world? is in a precarious situation, says Anil Bachoo. Even the education sector is having a brush with catastrophe ? except for the construction of schools in which he himself actively took part.
Paul Bérenger?s one-man show, which has been going on for four years, has to stop now, according to the leader of the MSD. ?He thinks he has to chair every single meeting of every single committee.?
Anil Bachoo also officially announced that he shares the same points of view as the Labour Party on many topics. As a result, he will probably join the social alliance for the next elections? Let?s wait and see- anything is possible in
Mauritian politics!
