Courrier des lecteurs: “Since it’s not difficult to ‘create’a vacant post in a State Secondary School
I would like to express my feelings regarding the recent event that took place concerning Mrs Tanzilah Nunkoo, an educator dismissed from her work. Whatever information that I have gathered is that Mrs Tanzilah Nunkoo was an educator of Aleemiah College for the last 18 years and she was dismissed from her work in April 2014. Whether this was LEGAL or ILLEGAL, from my point of view, I think and I’m sure that this should have been decided by the court (as far as I know, the case was to be heard in the Industrial Court).
However, based on “Humanitarian ground”, Honourable Mr Shakeel Mohamed and Mr Vasant Bunwaree have interfered and bypassed all the procedures. Contrary to our Prime Minister who regularly said that we should not interfere in the institutions, the above two ministers “pane laisse bane institutions fonctionner kouma bizin!!!”. On request from Mr Shakeel Mohamed, Mr Vasant Bunwaree has appointed Mrs Tanzilah Nunkoo as educator in SSS Forest Side. I am a retired person with the responsibility of two children (a son of 28 years and a daughter of 25 years – both having followed their full-time PGCE course in Mathematics and Business Studies respectively at the MIE since 3 years). They had applied to PSC, but unfortunately, up to now they have not yet been appointed. And I can see that it’s not difficult to “create” a vacant post for an educator in a State Secondary School (SSS).
As such, I would make a humble request to the above two ministers to appoint my two children in a SSS based on “Humanitarian ground” since I am a retired person and I still have the charge of two children who are not being able to obtain a place as educator in a SSS. I know Sir that both of you can bypass all the institutions to “sauvegarde” your place as Minister of Education and for Mr Shakeel Mohamed to have a ticket in the constituency No. 15, region where Mrs Tanzilah Nunkoo resides, in the forthcoming election.
Mr J.B. (A retired father)
