UK woman detained over triple child stabbing
A 35-year-old woman arrested after two children were stabbed to death and a baby seriously injured has been detained under the Mental Health Act, police said on the day before.
The woman, believed to be the children's mother, has been in hospital since the attack on Friday night but will now be transferred to a secure mental unit.
A 39-year-old man, believed to be the father of the children, was released without charge earlier on Sunday and will face no further action over the deaths, police said.
All three children were found at a home in Carshalton, south London after police and the London Ambulance Service were called. A six-month-old baby girl was in ?critical but stable condition? after surgeons operated on her, hospital officials said. But the baby?s five-year-old brother and four-year-old sister died in hospital.
