Located at Péreybère public beach, this cute beachfront hut offers seaside revellers the opportunity to infuse a little ecological learning into their bucolic beach experience. Films, posters and other pedagogical materials expound on the richness and fragility of marine biodiversity. On Saturday, Veranda Hotel inaugurated a mooring buoy at Grand-Bay snorkelling zone where dozens of boats ferry tourists weekly. Reef Mauritius will keep a close watch on the zone, which has suffered greatly from anchor damage in recent years.
