Christmas trees out. As from next Friday, Christmas trees will be on sale at Rs 70. The forestry service will be selling its trees until Monday 24th December at 3 p.m. at its headquarters in Curepipe, the nursery in Abercrombie and the Quartier-Militaire office. On Sunday, the sale will stop at noon. Bulk sale will also take place as from Thursday at Rs 60 the unit ? for a minimum purchase of 20 trees.

Workshops on VRS 2. Explanatory sessions on the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) 2 are being held at the moment. The Mauritius Sugar Authority, in collaboration with the Mauritius Sugar Producers Association, is holding these workshops throughout the island until Thursday 20th December in the context of the sugar reform. These meetings target mainly those interested in early retirement but all employees of the sector can attend if they wish to.
