The demonstration organised by representatives of teachers at IVTB recently was just a show-off. They knew that the promotion exercise of Deputy Head Teachers was imminent but they insisted in maintaining the demonstration.

Moreover, a communiqué of the ministry of Education dated 15.08.07 mentions that the representatives were informed by letter that all arrangements had been made for the promotion exercise to be completed.

If on 15.08.07, they had been informed, then what was the need for a demonstration? Teachers are wondering what is new in the promotion exercise, is somebody special in a hurry to be promoted?

Why did the representatives of teachers not organise a demonstration against A+, fusion and cuts in allowances for CPE invigilation and marking? Among the demonstrators, there is one who had declared that he does not believe in demonstrations, as these are things of the past. He does not believe in them. Yet he is having recourse to them!
