What?s ON?
● Students of the university of Mauritius (UoM) are organising a sit-in on the university campus today to fight some of the decisions taken by the UoM management since the beginning of the new academic year. The fact that some modules will now be done in groups of 300 or 400 students and that end-of-year projects for the degree will now be done in group work are among their main disputes.
● There will be a special parliamentary session on Friday, 24th August. During this session, the prime minister, Navin Ramgoolam, should appoint the new vice-president? who is none else than a former one. Angidi Chettiar (79), who resigned from this post in 2002 when Raouf Bundhun took up office, has been called upon again to take the post of vice-president.
