Students in Graphic Design show their work
Stephanie Lucchesi, 24
Images, illustrations, adverts were the elements, which encouraged Stephanie Lucchesi to discover the world of graphic design. Stephanie used to be a very shy person but, thanks to these courses where she had to do regular presentations during her three years of study, this young lady now feels at ease in everything she undertakes. She has done her best and the objectives at this showcase today are to show the efforts she has put in her work and obviously her talents to express what she was able to do. She thinks of starting her professional career in Mauritius, then go abroad. Her concern about setting up her own advertising agency would probably realize itself with experience. All hopes are high!
Gilliane Soupe, 23
It?s luck, which guided Gilliane Soupe to follow the courses but she always knew that she was made for a creative job. These three years have enabled her to open doors to different ways of expressing her creativity, to explore unknown fields and to enjoy the virtual world. Indeed she would like to continue in the audiovisual sector. In future, she thinks it would be interesting to acquire experience abroad in order to have more openings in the field chosen. Gilliane underlines that Mauritius is a small island and there are obviously other students from other institutes in competition for jobs in advertising agencies eventually. For the moment, the expressive young lady would like to express, through the show case, what is part of herself and the person she is.
Chady Shameem, 21
Since secondary school, Chady Shameem was interested in engineering but, like many others, he discovered that design was what he wanted to do because the means of expression were visibly varied. What the courses have brought him is the knowledge and control to convey messages using varied tools and to work out, refine the ideas in various stages. Concerning his future, Chady would like to balance local and foreign experience. He thinks that he might perhaps set up an advertising agency with some friends who have the same goals as him. Today, he would like to show his potential in this field.
Guillaume Cybèle, 23
Ambitious, Guillaume Cybèle wanted to see a new world of diversities, express his creativity and especially leave the commercial world to enter the one where the artistic side would be exploited. While following the graphic design courses, he has had the opportunity to explore the prospects in this field, which has captivated him. This young man, who likes to move around, sees his future in illustration and, depending on the opportunities, he hopes to continue further studies and acquire experience. He feels confident about his work and wishes to know what are the opportunities offered by agencies and customers. However, he adds that Mauritius follows the commercial tendency and does not exploit enough the artistic side.
