Sister Marie Simon Pierre?s testimony could be determining in the beatification process of late John Paul II. Diagnosed with Parkinson disease in 2001, the left- handed French nun, who worked as a nurse in the maternity of her congregation at L'Etoile, had to forsake her activities as the disease fatefully started to affect her left side.

As from April 2005 her state deteriorated seriously, claiming her joie de vivre and ordinary skills. She could hardly write and her face had turned rigid. To add insult to injury, she had to bear the loss of beloved Pope John Paul II.

The latter, who himself had suffered from Parkinson was, however, not to remain silent to the prayers addressed to him by members of the nun?s congregation.

As soon as his beatification procedure started in May 2005, (the first step of which requiring a trustworthy miracle, which could be established to his intercession), the member?s of Sister Marie Simon Pierre?s congregation started to pray him to obtain her healing.

At 4 oclock on this memorable 2nd day of June 2005, she woke up suddenly only to find she was delivered from Parkinson and its frightful symptoms. The healed nun is careful about using the term miracle, but she is convinced God gave her a second life, thanks to the intercession of the late Polish Pope.

According to the Bible encyclopedia (Pierre Norma), there is no equivalent for the word ?miracle? in Hebrew . The New Testament accounts of Christ?s extraordinary deeds such as transforming water into wine, healing the sick and bringing the dead back to life were to be referred to as miracles.

From there out of the common, impossible deeds, which come to happen started were considered miracles. While the Almighty is capable of everything including those, which seem impossible to humans, the divine in us can also make us soar to unknown heights.

Who would have thought that the non-violent crusade of a young Baptist minister could have helped cleaning America from its utterly unjust segregation laws in the sixties? Yet, Martin Luther King(MLK) achieved that dream to the cost of his life through a fight, which he started in 1955 at 27.

Shot at the balcony of his hotel on 4 April 1968, MLK stands out as one of those who help miraculously cure this world from its terrible disorders thanks to the power of love and truth they dare put in action. Why not ponder on how we can make little miracles happen out of our good actions? God and his Saints will always be there to help us in making it happen.
