Foreign sailor is main suspect
Neighbours have identified Wang Hai Yun?s alleged murderer. The latter, a Chinese expatriate aged 41, was stabbed several times at her place last Thursday. Fortunately enough, two of her neighbours saw a man run away and warned the victim?s brother-in-law that there was something wrong. He thus discovered the victim?s body that had been stabbed six times.
According to witnesses, the murderer could be a foreign sailor. One of them, the taxi driver, tried to run after him but could not reach him, as he got into the new fishing port in Trou-Fanfaron. However, when officers of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and the Major Crime Investigation Division (MCIT) arrived, they took four sailors in for questioning. One of them was formally identified by the two witnesses.
The victim had a small shop where many foreign sailors could buy food until late at night. However, she did not leave her door open as from a certain hour and placed the goods in a basket that was tied to a rope.
With such a system, the door closed and a watchman down on the street, the police are wondering how the man could have entered the victim?s house? Time may tell!
