I refer to last Sunday?s issue of l?express-dimanche regarding child Anousha who passed away after enduring unthinkable atrocities at the hands of her own? mother. It?s a deep sense of revolt that overwhelms me whenever I come across ?news items? of such horrible acts in our so-called paradise island. So many sick minds in such a small population!

I believe it is time to ACT NOW. Act against those people who are transforming this unique country (c.f. Mark Twain?s description of our island as paradise) into a place that could provide food for thought to modern day Dantes. It is a paradox that while there are so many countries with lesser natural assets that are endeavouring to bring about positive changes in all aspects of their environment, here in Mauritius we have so many mentally disturbed characters that are doing exactly the contrary. They are busy letting loose their basic instincts and directly or indirectly jeopardizing the future of this country.

We have to act fast to bring about a halt to such reprehensible acts. I make an appeal to all ?gens de bonne volonté? to kindly put their heads together in order to find lasting solutions to all the ills affecting this exceptional country. May God bless us!
