One day your children will ask
One day your children will ask
Answering them is no easy task
You will indeed reply
You will smother their cries.
Dad, what is this thing called war?
Dad, why do they stretch a fight so far?
The tears will well up in your eyes
While they will toss and turn at night.
Mum, why do innocent children die?
Mum, where will the helpless women hide?
You will gingerly squeeze their hand
But the one truth will not stand.
If you could find the answers
If God could grant you the chances
But how do we tell them?
How do we introduce our children to hell?
Wars just cannot be understood
The terrorists will always use the ugly hood
The politicians will toast to hatred
With money the enemy will be tempted.
But one day it will all stop
One fine day, the bombs will not drop
We will all wake up from this nightmare
We will not get trapped into this snare.
Everybody will speak one language
Love will send us on an eventful voyage
The nations will forget their loathing
Indeed a new day will be dawning.
That day is not a mere dream
Our wishes will not be muffled by a scream
Just believe in God?s prophecy
And put a cross on infamy.
Jesus sacrificed himself for us
In Allah we will always trust
Buddha was another messenger
Lord Krishna awakened our conscience deeper.
You don?t need a temple to pray
In our hearts the One will forever stay
He said: ?Lift a stone, split a piece of wood
And you will find Me?.
