<B>Sexual stalking or revenge?</B>

A sales executive of Ceylincostella Insurance has been dismissed after she accused her boss, Royston de Cruze, of sexual harassment and indecent assault. The company states that her allegations are unfounded, that she had a second job and showed professional misconduct. Her former general manager was provisionally charged last Thursday. The sales executive, who is married, asserts that she always rejected his advances and that he finally threatened to fire her. The general manager, also married with children, denies all the accusations and says she only wanted a revenge because he had discovered she had a second job elsewhere. He also states that she tried to set one of her colleagues against the boss but she didn’t succeed. The colleague has confirmed this.

<B>For a fair and realistic reform</B>

The African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries conference in Kenya ended with the development of an action plan to promote the sugar industry within ACP countries. The minister of Agro-industry, Arvin Boolell, insisted on the difficulties the countries, and particularly Mauritius, would have if the 39% drop on sugar export prices was confirmed. It would cost Rs 27 billion to the country if the reform is adopted in its present form. “Just imagine the impact of such a drop for a country which imports oil.” For him, the reform should be “realistic, fair and equitable.”

Viderman, the driver, was in fact the enemy of Juliano’s brother, Arnaud. Arnaud had been going out with Karouna for one year before the couple split up. According to the girl, Arnaud never let go of her and continued to harass her afterwards. Although Arnaud denies the facts, Karouna’s cousin, Viderman, thought he had to take the matter in hand. A violent fight started between Viderman and Arnaud on Saturday night and finished on the road the next morning while Juliano was quietly walking.

The fight for Ferney forest goes on</B>

The president of the Mahébourg Citizens Welfare Organisation , Georges Ah-Yan, says he is satisfied with the peaceful protest he led in Ferney last Sunday. About 150 people spent the day in the valley with notices to protest against the South Eastern Highway, which is threatening many endemic plants and fauna. The aim of this event was to make people discover the valley so that they may better understand why it should be preserved.
