Parting Message

Krishnanand Guptar.

À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.

Let me drop the curtain, unknown, unseen

With both of my hands crystal clear and clean

After fifty-five years serving others

From very depth of my heart as brothers

In public sector with love and passion

With deft devotion and dedication

Serving with the stamp of sincerity

With the rightful balm of integrity

With seals of seriousness and commitment

With candid conviction and endearment

With the light of loyalty as a friend

And holding honesty in the right hand

As inscribed in the contours of my fate

Irrespective of who’s at helm of state

Serving at diverse rungs of the ladder

From lowest steps to holding the rudder

Dwelling in the shade of simplicity

And moving on the path of modesty

Overseeing the purse of the nation

Sinking in the sea of stark stagnation

Carrying bricks to build the country’s well

To make the land a better place to dwell

For all, heedless of caste, colour or creed

Regardless of tints of flags they brandished

Oft stuck between the anvil and hammer

Serving as screen against storms and showers

With the shoulders burdened with heaps of loads

Which some times my health just could not afford.

My heartfelt thanks to those faithful to me

Ever keeping me company with glee

Along my tedious journey of life

Amidst tempestuous storms and stressful strife

Never shirking responsibility

Even when dressed in the garb of trainee.

Now from the deep sea of inner voyage

Let me share some strings of parting message~

No task is deemed to be too big or small

The same noble dignity have they all

Whatever task we may have to perform

Let’s carry it to the best of the norm

With the sparkling glow of love and passion

With shines of commitment and conviction

With flames of loyalty and devotion

And with the glimmer of dedication

Some may desire to untie our ship’s knot

Some may envy our coat and brood vile thoughts

Some may wish to take the wind from our sail

And from the path of our goal to derail

Some may stare at us with their grudging eyes

And disdain the rules of law we apply

Let’s not surrender to shades of despair

Retire not in the gloom with startling scare

Forsake not the sparks of our cherished goal

Renounce not the shine of our silken soul

Disown not the gem of our inner self

And even in midst of storms be ourselves

If a burden is too heavy to bear

And no one we can trust to take a share

Let’s light the flame of our faith in the Lord

To the peak of the best we can afford

With glows of confidence and without fear

And our way forward will be crystal clear

Let us not think of gratitude to us

Let us not make of recompense a fuss

Let integrity be pearl of our pride

The goal of excellence be our sole guide

Let’s not part from the path of honesty

Let’s not forsake the tide of loyalty

But ever move along the road that’s straight

Notwithstanding who is head of the state

Let’s treat our day’s work as a piece of art

Shining from every one else quite apart

Drawing from inner self, inspiration

To make it a pristine pure perfection

As a fragment of a gem to be adored

As an offering of love to the Lord.
